Whats next for WPS?

Concerns are growing that the world economy will experience a sharp slowdown in 2009 and what that might mean for the Women’s Professional Soccer league scheduled to begin play in April ‘09.
According to one WPS insider the global economic meltdown could have serious impact on the league.
Perhaps the biggest story to date is that the league has made no player signings and morale is said to be low amongst management as there are major obstacles in negotiating with the US WNT representative John Langel who is steadfast in his demands.
The foreign player draft is a fiasco and privately league insiders admit that perhaps 50% of the drafted players will not play in the league.
Signing Marta at any price is a priority even at the risk of offending Wambach and Co.
