Ella Masur scored an unassisted goal in the 48th minute of play Wednesday as the defending United Soccer Leagues W-League champion Washington Freedom earned a 1-0 road victory over the Northern Virginia Majestics at Wakefield High School in Arlington, VA.
The Freedom stand 6-1-1 with 19 points and are tied with the Long Island Rough Riders and Jersey Sky Blue in the Eastern Conference, Northeast Division. Northern Virginia is 1-5-4 and tied with the New Jersey Wildcats, who they face July 11 at Howison Homestead Park in Woodbridge, VA, for sixth place with seven points.
