W-League Team of the Week

United Soccer Leagues announced today the W-League Team of the Week for the 12th week of the USL season and the ninth edition of the W-League Team of the Week for the year honoring Ottawa Fury forward Shay Powell as Player of the Week.
Powell scored all three goals in Ottawa’s 3-0 victory at Laval. This game was one of the week’s marquee matchups as the second and third place teams in the competitive Northern Division got together. Both teams are chasing the Toronto Lady Lynx, who hold a slight one point lead over the Fury, although the Fury have a game in hand over the Lady Lynx. Ottawa also defeated Rochester over the weekend in the first of a three game home stand that will close on Wednesday, July 16 when Laval will travel to Ottawa to look for revenge.
