WPSL makes home in Houston

The Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) has returned once again to the South Texas area. The South Select will be based out of Houston, TX and this upcoming Summer 2008 campaign will try to establish itself in the highest level of women's soccer in not only Texas - but the world.
"We're excited to continue the expansion of our league into Texas," said WPSL Commissioner Jerry Zanelli. "With the inclusion of South Select, it should be an exciting season in the Southwest Conference."
The South Select Team will be led by South Texas U-23 Women's Select Team Head Coach David DeVerteuil. DeVerteuil possess knowledge of all levels of soccer, as he is a former Trinidad & Tobago Youth National player, Houston Hotshot professional soccer player and is now a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) "A" License coach.
