Former Marshall assistant to go to trial

A former Marshall University women's soccer coach will go to trial on May 23 to face charges of driving under the influence and striking two parked vehicles.
Matthew Ford Gwilliam, former assistant coach of the women's soccer team, was arrested in connection with charges of driving under the influence and hitting a parked vehicle at 3:11 a.m. March 25 while traveling westbound on Seventh Avenue in Huntington, according to a criminal complaint filed by the Huntington Police Department.
Gwilliam accepted a job as assistant women's soccer coach at Virginia Tech University April 4 and has subsequently moved to Blacksburg, Va. The Marshall women's team will play at Blacksburg on Saturday.
