San Diego WFC hires new coach & G.M.

The San Diego WFC SeaLions of the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) have announced the hiring of Paul Dougherty as their new Head Coach and Amie Becker as the team's first full-time General Manager.
Paul Dougherty played professional soccer for 19 years, including stints in the English Premier League (EPL), Major League Soccer (MLS), Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) and Continental Indoor Soccer League (CISL). A former San Diego Sockers standout, League MVP and fan favorite, Dougherty spent three seasons as a coach with the La Jolla Nomads Soccer Club, where his teams won two Surf Cup titles along with State Cup, Regional and U.S. Club Soccer National Championships.
Amie Becker graduated from New York University in 1998. She served as an account executive with the San Diego Spirit of the now-defunct Women's United Soccer Association (WUSA) from 2002-03 before joining the San Diego Sockers (MISL) as Director of Operations, where she was responsible for the management, planning and production of the team's home matches. In both positions, her duties included developing partnerships involving the team and San Diego's youth soccer clubs.
In 2006, she worked with Soccer United Marketing in sponsorship fulfillment for the Mexican National Team matches held in the United States. Becker also worked with U.S. Soccer, where she handled the coordination and logistics of Youth National Team domestic & international training camps and matches.
