Sundhage has sent defender Becky Sauerbrunn to play with the U.S. U-23s, who leave for Spain tomorrow, where she will get three excellent matches against top U-23 sides from England, Norway and Germany.
In addition, Sundhage released goalkeeper Cori Alexander; defenders Amy LePeilbet, Brittany Taylor, Lindsay Huie and Manya Makoski; midfielders Jen Buczkowski, Tina DiMartino, Sarah Huffman, Noelle Keselica and Joanna Lohman; and forwards Tiffany Weimer and Christie Welsh.
Sundhage held 10 of the 23 players who were training with the younger group, including four young players (Tobin Heath, Lauren Cheney, Amy Rodriguez and Angie Woznuk), who were on the roster for the 2008 Four Nations tournament, 2007 WWC team members Heather Mitts, Natasha Kai and Nicole Barnhart, 2004 Olympic gold medalist Kristin Luckenbill, as well as 2007 Residency Training Camp participants Keeley Dowling and India Trotter, both defenders.
